Malew 1698
This is affirmed to be the last will of Martin McYlrea.
First, he commited his soul to God and his body to Christian burial.
Item he bequeathed to his grandson Jo Mcylrea ten shillings or else half of an heifer whether his father should think fit to give him at Michealmas next.
Item to his three grand daughters two sheep and two lambs at next May.
Lastly he constituted and appointed his only son John McYlrea sole executor of all the rest of his goods moveable and immoveable whatsoever

- Martin was buried 10th January, 1698
- The name Martin is unique in Mylrea genealogy and while there is no record of Martin's birth, his mother had to be Issabel Mcylleriah who died in 1648 naming Martin as one of her sons
- He was one of three brothers - Thomas, Martin & John - and sister, Issabel
- Martin McYlrea married Elizabeth Christian, Malew, 1654. She died 1683
- Children: Thomas (1657-1670); Katherine born 1660 - might have died 1669; John (1664)
- Son John married Elizabeth Bridson, Malew, 1684 and died 1699, 18 months after his father
- Family estate was settled on grand son John in 1718. By then, he was a tailor in Dublin and probably never returned to the Island, selling the estate in 1735
- This Mylrea line, if it continued, did so in Ireland or further afield
- Grand daughter Ellin had a Marriage Contract in 1722, marrying John Callister of Ballasalley; of the other two grand daughters mentioned in Martin's will there is no trace so presumably they had died before reaching adulthood
- There is much about the Malew Mylreas of the 1600s and early 1700s that does not hang together so extreme caution must be exercised
